That is a crazy good deal! The book has lots of seldom seen illustrations including some that show more of an NC Wyeth influence. Andrew Mitchell
Was considering it till I saw this review. http://www.amazon.com/Telling-Stories-Rockwell-Collections-Spielberg/product-reviews/0810996510/ref=cm_cr_pr_hist_2?ie=UTF8&filterBy=addTwoStar&showViewpoints=0
Yeah, I saw that, but am willing to gamble on it anyways.Like Andrew mentioned above, I know that this exhibit had a lot of paintings that are not seen in any other Rockwell books. For that alone, I think it's worth it.
Perhaps I'll post a flip through for you guys when it arrives. That way, you can decide for yourself.
Thanks for the heads up. Ordered it today!
Dan, you always make me buy stuff.I actually went to this exhibit. Amazing.I hope the book does it justice. I'm on the fence too, from the review. Would love to hear what you think of it, Dan.
The book is TOTALLY worth it. It's a collection from the exhibit, so obviously there are a not a zillion images.but what images are there, are usually full page, sometimes double page spreads. Plus, the reprodcutions are all taken from the original paintings, and not the covers, like many other Rockwell books. It's an -excellent- book! I have no idea what that guy on Amazon was complaining about.
Thanks for the heads up, just purchased it :)
Thanks so much - I immediately bought it, it just arrived, and it's a quality book - looks like it's back up to $40 again. I wonder what happened.
